Celebrate your love for each other and great style with a wedding, reception, bridal brunch, shower or welcome reception at Messina’s at the Terminal, featuring four event spaces: the Grand Atrium, the Walnut Room, the Huey P Long Room and the Terrace.
The Terminal was designed by the same architectural firm that created the Louisiana State Capitol Building. Each of the rooms in this architectural masterpiece has been restored to its original 1930’s grandeur. You almost expect Amelia Earhart, who actually spent the night in this historic airport in 1937, to walk through the doors.
Four Unique Spaces:
In the Grand Atrium, surround yourselves with marble, granite, and ceiling reliefs. Throw your bouquet from the second level over-looking the terrazzo floor below with an inlaid center compass and other airport designs.
The intimate Walnut Room features warm hues and rich woodwork. You’ll love the large Art Deco Bar that overlooks on the runway. Back in the day, the Walnut Room was as famous as the Blue Room in the Roosevelt Hotel – it was kind of “a Blue Room on the Lake.” If you haven’t seen it since the restoration, take time to do so now.
The Terrace is known for its breathtaking sunset view overlooking Lake Pontchartrain and the runway.
And the Huey P. Long Room, named after Louisiana’s larger than life governor, is a smaller space with views of the lake. It opens out to the Observation Deck.
